Prelude
 The career of fashion designing has recently emerged as one of the most popular and sought after career among the youth. A profession in Fashion Design not only involves meeting and dealing with people from the glamour and fashion world but also gives a momentum to the imaginative and creative flamboyance of the people who have a sense of style. The major practical areas in this industry are designing garments, cutting the cloth, sewing the pieces together and finally merchandising. Popularity comes from marketing which is done by marketing of the various styles and products, done through ramp shows and fashion write-ups.
Fashion is a term commonly used in relation to clothes, dresses, garments, textiles, etc. There is an increase in quality textiles and materials for the fashion designers to work with. Fashion designers today are very well trained, intelligent and have made the Indian fashion market very proud.
Eligibility
 Minimum eligibility for the Undergraduate course in this field is 10+2 with 50% marks
and for Post Graduate courses graduation. In the prominent institutes, admission is strictly based on merit, through written test, situation test, group discussion and interview.

Accessory designing and fashion designing, Leather and Garment Design and Technology, Apparel marketing and Merchandising, Fashion Journalism and Presentation
Garment Manufacturing Technology, Textile Design and Development and Knitwear Design and Technology
 While 10+2 is sufficient for Accessory designing and Fashion Designing, Graduates are preferred for other courses.
The training also provides internship in an organization which gives the students industry knowledge.
