Help Desks for the North Eastern Students

Students from distant North-Eastern states have a tremendous craze for getting admission in Delhi University.Every year a few thousand of Naga,Mizo,Kuki,khasi,Garo,Ao, Manipuri etc students visit Delhi to get admission in Delhi's different Universities and particularly in Delhi University. So, during admission season one can witness many such students in Delhi University. Many Of them are new arrivals to Delhi.So,they face multivarious difficulties in Delhi and in Delhi University. face difficulties not only in admission form filling up admission forms but they find it difficult how to reach proper college and its location, where to live as paying guest and overall security in a Metro city.

These May-June-July are the most vital months for admission aspirants. To help and give proper guidance to these simple hearted North-Eastern boys and girls help desk is essential in the University. So, This year also, several north-eastern student unions i.e Naga,Kuki,Ao etc, have opened several help-desk. These Help Desk are situated in front of DSW-office of Delhi University arts faculty building. From 1st June they have started helping out NE Students to fill up admission forms, searching out accommodations for the girls students, a secured PG to live, transportation guidance etc.So,for the NE students are supposed to reach to these help desk especially formed for the NE students.Atleast,10 such help-desk working round the clock in the University.

DUSU-Help Line

DUSU-Help Line Besides University Help lines The Students' Union DUSU also has opened 'Help desk' in front of all affiliated colleges across the mega city.

DUSU has set up information desks at all colleges where the common pre-admission forms are being sold. The DUSU volunteers are helping out students and parents in filling the forms and guiding them as to where they should go and who they can speak to.
The DUSU volunteers are also handing out information regarding important dates for admissions and on paying guest accommodation. Another plus is that the DUSU volunteers are guiding fresher on career options apart from what DU offers.
Hence DUSU is providing information regarding alternative career options like joining the Air Force, Indian Navy, Indian Army, the Coast Guard as well as careers in hotel management, aviation, multimedia, animation, modeling, fashion designing, merchant navy and physical and allied sciences.
Trying to improve transport services on campus, DUSU has suggested to the varsity administration the introduction of feeder bus service connecting the Vishwavidyalaya metro station to various colleges.
