Shocked world laments at the sudden demise of ‘Moon walker’ Michael Jackson ,at 50.
ciiThe untimely and sudden demise of legendary pop icon and rock-star Michael Jackson has shocked the world. Millions of messages are pouring in from his family, media, Hollywood and from all over the globe.
The 50 year-old ‘Moon walker’ former child star, who became famous all over the world as the King of Pop, was not breathing when paramedics arrived at his rented home early on Thursday afternoon. He was taken to University of California, Los Angeles Medical Centre, where he died at 1.07p.m Pacific time on Thursday.
Besides his parents, he has left behind three loving kids and eight of his brothers and sisters including his famed sister Janet Jackson.
Maverick musician and as many as 7 granny awardee Jackson, who died at the age of only 50,started his showbiz career at the age of five with the band ‘Jackson 5’ and led a life which was packed with stupendous high. Michael Jackson made a transformation from child star to a pop icon with his successful 1979 album, “0ff The Wall’ which began a musical career that span three decades and abruptly ended with a cardiac arrest. The album established Jackson as one of the premier talents in the music industry and as the sexiest entertainer after Elvis Presley. Mumbaikers and are indebted to Indian Pop queen Sharon Pravakar for bringing Jackson to Mumbai in the year 1996, for a spectacular show in front of 50,000 audiences. We will always remember and cherish Michael Jackson’s never ending musical journey which will continue even after his death (CIIN-26.06.09)

24X7 Anti-ragging help line Launched to curb the social menace.
ciiNew Delhi 21.06.09: In view of the growing Ragging menace in various campuses in new academic session, the Centre has launched a ‘round–the–clock’ anti-Ragging Help Line on June 20th, SaturDay. The Help Line (1800-180-5522) was launched by HRD Minister Shri Kapil Sibal, another number ,155222, will be functional within three months.
Based on the recommendations of Raghavan Committee, The Supreme Court directed the University Grants Commission to fund a toll free helpline for students in distress. Students, Parents and Guardians can file complaints also via the internet on email:helpline@antiragging.net.(CIIN)

Registration of J & K migrants from July 1, in D.U. cii
NewDelhi 21.06.09:Delhi University will begin the registration process for the children of Kashmiri migrants for admission to various under graduate courses from July 1. The registration forms will be given out ad received at room no. 220 in the New Administration block on North Campus from July 1st.to 3rd. The Notification for the allotment of course and colleges to these students will be released on July 9th. The Universty has a few seats reserved for the wards of Kashmiri migrants (CIIN)
